GIGABYTE embraces a philosophy of "Happy Career and Glorious Life". The government labor regulations govern our human resources management and employees are provided with a message board and opinion box. Dedicated personnel are assigned to respond to all feedback to ensure that we have a smooth internal communication. Employee Welfare Committee is established to organize welfare and preferential activities on an irregular basis. Employees can participate in their preferred clubs and activities to improve their mental and physical health.
Employee Welfare Committee
The " GIGABYTE United Employee Welfare Committee" ("Welfare Committee") was established by the GIGABYTE in accordance with the "Employees' Welfare Fund Act". The Welfare Committee mainly provides employees with benefits such as Dragonboat Festival/Mid-Autumn Festival/Birthday shopping vouchers, wedding/childbirth/ children's education/club/travel assistance and subsidies, as well as organizes large-scale events including celebrity seminars, family days, annual parties and the end-of-year lottery. The Welfare Committee also holds group purchases of tickets for entertainment/recreational events and sets up ten clubs to improve employees' work-life balance.
The Welfare Committee consists of 39 members who are representatives from the two plants in Taiwan. Apart from the five honorary members, all committee members serve for a term of one year and are re-elected every year. A chairman is elected from among the Welfare Committee members along with one director from each of the two plants. The other members are divided into four groups named "Specials", "Knowledge", "Compassion" and "Activities" to assist with the execution of committee affairs.
GIGABYTE believes that every employee should be treated fairly and with respect. In conformity with international conventions on human rights, we do not tolerate discrimination, abuse or illegal employment. We also commit to follow local laws and the Electronics Industry Code of Conduct (EICC) to the highest ethical standards. At the same time, we also expect our suppliers and contractors to follow the related policies including conflict metal free policy, respect for workers, treat employees fairly and take full responsibility for manufacturing processes and the environment.

Ban on Child Labor
According to the "Labor Standard Act" in Taiwan, employers may not employ children under the age of 15. Workers between the ages of 15 and 16 may not perform heavy labor or hazardous work. GIGABYTE follows the government's labor laws and does not hire workers under the age of 16. Applications are verified by Human Resources upon receipt to ensure that workers under the age of 16 are not hired.
Personal interests are taken into consideration for personnel assignments by GIGABYTE so employees can develop in their own way. Apart from the one-day orientation training for new employees, all kinds of professional internal and external training are also provided based on job requirements. Executives take part in the "Group Consensus Conference" and management skills classes each year. In this way, employees can continue to grow their professional knowledge and boost the company's competitiveness. Training classes include:
- Recruit training: Help new employees become part of the GIGABYTE family as soon as possible
- Management skills training: Classes are provided for managers of each level to improve their management skills
- Core competency training: Cultivate employees with the required general skills and consensus
- Language training: Subsidies for language classes to improve internationalization ability

To ensure a sound remuneration structure for our company directors, supervisors and executives, GIGABYTE established the "Remuneration Committee" in accordance with the "Regulations Governing the Appointment and Exercise of Powers by the Remuneration Committee of a Company Whose Stock is Listed on the Stock Exchange or Traded Over the Counter" in the Securities and Exchange Act in 2011. The Committee consists of three members appointed by Board resolution. One of the committee members serves as the convener and the term is identical to the Board. The purpose of the Remuneration Committee is to evaluate the remuneration policy and structure of the company's directors, supervisors and executives, ensure that the remuneration complies with the relevant regulations and is sufficient to attract talented personnel, as well as provide recommendations for the Board for its reference to make decisions. The Committee convenes meetings at least twice a year and holds extra meetings for extraordinary occasions.
Occupational Safety and Health
Our company's manufacturing process conforms to labor safety & health regulations. We employ a numbers of technicians for the labor safety & health management as required by law and have acquired OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System certification. In addition to free annual health exams for full-time employees with at least one year of service, the Administration Department regularly hosts health education seminars on topics such as cervical cancer, breast cancer, workplace psychology and other topics. Through these seminars, employees can have a better understanding of these diseases and prevent them. We cater for both employees' physical and psychological needs properly.
GIGABYTE has set up a fitness center and aerobics classroom on B1 of our Xindian headquarters. Apart from regular aerobics and yoga classes each week, we also offer a variety of club activities including cycling, basketball, yoga and badminton clubs. Regularly Employee Family Day events are hosted to encourage employees to enjoy the great outdoors. Besides, we have an art gallery in our office building and change the exhibitions on a regular basis. Various celebrity, music, art and health seminars are held at different times to enrich employees' souls and work-life balance.
